Importing from Google Maps

You can bring the places and lists you saved in Google Maps into Vistamigo, in one of two ways. This page explains what each one copies, how it's handled, and how to remove it again.

Two ways to import

What the import copies

For each saved list: the list's name and, for each place, its name, your note and its Google Maps link. Nothing else from your Google account. Images and web pages you saved from Google Search are skipped.

Your notes may mention other people, for example "Recommended by Ana". They stay private unless you choose to show notes on a list you share.

How it's handled

Vistamigo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't sell your imported data, share it with anyone other than the people you choose to share a list with, use it for advertising, or use it to develop, improve or train AI models.

Managing what you imported

Removing Vistamigo's access to your Google account

Vistamigo releases Google's permission after each import, so it keeps no access. You can check, or remove it yourself, at any time:

  1. Go to your Google Account's third-party connections.
  2. Choose Vistamigo, if it's listed.
  3. Choose Delete all connections (or Remove access).

Removing access doesn't delete places you've already imported. Delete those in the app, as above.
